Morley Wood and Sons
In 1860 Morley’s great grandfather John B. Wood, along with John’s father James, established the Wood family farm located in Albany, PEI. It has been since operated by Morley’s grandfather Alfred, his father Walter, and now Morley himself.
Today, Morley C. Wood and Sons (5th and 6th generations) is operated by Morley, his wife Elizabeth, and their two sons Greg, and Jeff. Morley and Elizabeth have six grandchildren ages 1 to 16 years.
They farm 1700 acres of potatoes, hay, and cereals. Primarily servicing the Table market, they also produce and sell seed locally.
Morley says that he and his father “unknowingly had a working relationship that he himself never realized until others pointed it out”.
Morley has served on various potato organizations and is currently chairman of the Prince Edward Island Potato board.
He is and has also been an active member as an elder of his local united church for 17 years.
